The Study...

The study, which we originally made the dining room was one of the toughest rooms in the house...a whole in the roof had caused a significant amount of damage to the ceiling, outside wall and the floor.

Jessica, her boyfriend Sam, and Kevin had to pull off the entire roof and replace it.  After the roof was good we had a new window installed and my husband started off with renovating the inside. About a quarter of the ceiling drywall was replaced as was a lot of the wall.  I believe  I posted before when Kevin replaced the floor beams on the floor.  The pictures below are some of the original pictures we got from the inspection and this post concentrates on the inside.

We decided to move the dining room to the back room, and converted this room into a study/pub.  Its a great place to sit while cooking dinner and to have some quiet time reading.  Since these pictures we have picked up a shelf unit for our books that sites in the corner to the right of the window, and a different armchair.

We sill have to add the crown molding to this room, and re do the floors, but it is one of my favorite rooms in the house.

An update...which you have all waited far too long for!

A long awaited update....

I feel incredibly bad that I have not posted anything for nine months.  Life has just got so hectic with different things that it has been tough to keep up.

We really have not done much more the house, except the front living room - so here are before....and mid....and after pictures.  Let me know what you all think!

BEFORE - nasty nasty smelly carpet, windows with ivy growing in through them from the outside...broken, rotted window frames...not sure I need to say anymore.

MID - we cleaned up the room, removed the carpet, replaced the windows and painted, just so that it was at least clean.

AFTER - I knew though that I wanted to do more with this room and really wanted to make the fireplace wall a little bit of a feature.

So I got a cool mural to go on the fireplace wall, we re-painted everything and even got a very cool ceiling medallion.  I must say, that it is a very cool room now.  Of course, the floors are still waiting to be done...they will be the last thing today and I can honestly say, I think that it may be this winter that we finally sand, stain and reseal all the floors.
